Personal Data (Privacy) Policy Statement General

  1. Sunway TES Sdn Bhd [“Sunway TES”] pledges to adhere to the obligations stipulated under the Personal Data (Privacy) Policy Statement [“Privacy Statement”] stated herein.

  2. In doing so, Sunway TES [referred to as “organiser”] will ensure compliance by its respective officers and staff to the strictest standards of security and confidentiality in respect of all personal information and data submitted by users via www.STESAccountingQuiz.my [“the website”] and the organiser will not, subject to the terms herein, release such information to any third party without the prior consent of the relevant user(s) of the website.

  3. The organiser have appointed a third party i.e. Cornerstone Corporation Sdn Bhd, to manage the website and the organiser shall inform the said party to ensure that its respective officers and staff adhere to the obligations stipulated under this Privacy Statement and comply with the strictest standards of security and confidentiality in respect of all personal information and data submitted by users via the website.

  4. Users are strongly recommended to read this Privacy Statement carefully to have an understanding of the policy and practices with regard to the treatment of personal information and data provided by the users on the website.

  5. This Privacy Statement is applicable to both registered and unregistered users.

  6. If users have questions or concerns regarding this Privacy Statement, they should first contact the representatives of the organiser, whose contact details are set out under the section headed “Exclusive Ownership of the STESAccountingQuiz.my  Website” in the Rules and Regulations.

Collection of Personal Data

  1. In the course of using the website, users may disclose or be asked to provide personal information and/or data. In order to participate in the Accounting Quiz via the website, it would be necessary for users to provide the organiser with their personal information and/or data as the organiser will not be able to process the registration for the Accounting Quiz entry on the website in the event should the users fail to do so.

  2. Only duly authorised staffs of the organiser and the authorised staff of the above mentioned third party will be permitted to access the users’ personal information and/or data, and the organiser shall not release such personal information and/or data to any other third parties, unless consent is provided.

  3. The organiser may collect personal information and/or data about a user such as his/her name, log-in ID and password, address, email address, phone number and education level that is/are not otherwise publicly available, and such collection may only be used for the following purposes:

    • (a) to inform the users (students) with various programmes offered by Sunway College and promotional and marketing materials; and

    • (b) to inform the users regarding administrative notices e.g.: Intake date, Registration information, Events, etc.

Registration information, Events, etc.

  1. In the event the users are not agreeable with the use of their personal information and/or data for the purposes stated in paragraph 3 (Collection of Personal Data) above, the users shall inform the organiser accordingly.

  2. The organiser shall only collect personal information and/or data which are necessary and adequate but not excessive in relation to the purposes set out above.

  3. If the organiser requires the use of the users’ personal information and/or data for a purpose other than those set out above, the said organiser shall request the users’ prescribed consent to the same. If the user is a minor, the prescribed consent should be given by the user’s parent or guardian.

Changes in this Privacy Statement

  1. The organiser reserve the right to update, revise, modify or amend this Privacy Statement at any time as the organiser deem necessary. As such, users are strongly recommended to review this Privacy Statement on a regular basis. If the organiser decide to update, revise, modify or amend this Privacy Statement, the said organiser will post those changes to this webpage so that users would be aware of what information the said organiser collects and how the said organiser uses it.

  2. If the organiser makes material changes to this Privacy Statement, the said organiser will notify users on this webpage, by email, or by means of a notice on the website of the said organiser.
